Abu Sayyaf 'spotter' nabbed in Zamboanga City

SECURITY forces have arrested a suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) "spotter" in Barangay Baliwasan, Zamboanga City, a police official disclosed Monday.

Chief Inspector Edilberto Alvarez, Zamboanga City Police Office intelligence chief, identified the arrested suspect as Mansur Radalan alias "Bentong," who was arrested at his residence in Manggal Drive, Baliwasan village Monday dawn.

Authorities said Radalan allegedly is an ASG spotter who scouts for possible kidnap victim in a particular place.

Alvarez said confiscated from the suspect were a rifle grenade, a fragmentation grenade and an improvised explosive device.
