MORE than 130 tennis-playing priests from around the country will be joining the 6th Fr. Suarez Cup on Feb. 3, 2015.

The tournament is already on its sixth year and this is the first time that organizers will hold it outside the Manila Polo Club.

This was disclosed by tennis afficionado John Pages, who helped in organizing the said tournament.

“Because we are expecting around 130 participants, the matches will be spread out in five venues," said organizer Pages.

The venues will be at Citigreen Tennis Resorts, Alta Vista tennis court, Talisay Tennis Club, Pardo Tennis Club and La Paloma tennis courts.

The tournament features a singles category with age groups such as 45 and under, 46 to 55, 56 and older, and the doubles category.

The tournament is initiated by Fr. Fernando Suarez, a prominent healing priest.

Pages added that Johnny Arcilla, the country's no. 1 player, who is good friend of Fr. Suarez, has confirmed to be part of the tournament and he will be playing in an exhibition game.

Pages said tennis is very popular among priests and that he is elated with this kind of tournament.
