Ambushed army major back in Baguio

THE body of an Army major who was killed in an ambush in Marawi City last week is now back in Baguio City.

Major Jerico Pasas Mangalusm, a native of Pampanga and resident of Asin Road, Baguio City was brought home late afternoon of Monday.

His body lies in state at the Philippine Military Academy in Fort del Pilar and will be later brought home to Pampanga.

Reports said the army major was in a convoy together with other operatives of the intelligence service of the Armed forces when they were ambushed by suspected members of Maute Group in Barangay Lilod Madaya.

Mangalus and his companion, Corporal Bryan Libot, was killed during the 10-minute clash, while Corporal Rolando Cartilla was wounded.

Mangalus is a graduate of PMA "Banyuhay" Class of 2002, and married to his wife, Fran, who is a professor at the academy. They are blessed with two children.
