CHARGES of violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act have been filed against an American national before the City Prosecutor's Office.

Sean James Ryan of Nevada, USA was charged for allegedly forcing Arnold Lamdag and Alvin Baroro to take an unknown pill believed to be morphine.

In an affidavit, the victims said that when they refused to take the pills, Ryan became upset and physically assaulted them.

A 911 call from the hotel they were staying led to the quick response of the authorities.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) crime lab results confirmed that the nine brown tablets confiscated in the respondent's hotel room were indeed morphine, a dangerous drug.

A bail bond of P200,000 was recommended for the temporary release of the accused. (Kathleen Nosdo)
