ANGELES CITY -- Scores of residents here attended a recent hog-raising seminar sponsored by Pigrolac, a unit of Univet Nutrition and Animal Healthcare Company (UNAHCO) in cooperation with Topline Feed and Supply.

Balibago Chairman Rodelio Mamac said the seminar was participated in by backyard hog-raisers from Barangays Balibago, Cutcut and Malabanias.

“We organized the seminar to promote the proper caring of hogs from piglets to farrowing through proper feeding program and prevention, control, and cure of common diseases,” Mamac said.

During the workshop, Mamac said he introduced to the participants the concept of Babuyang Walang Amoy.

Guest speakers include Dr. Bryan Cayag-An and other UNAHCO executives.

The seminar was held inside a one-hectare property where the new Barangay Balibago Integrated Organic Farming is located.

Mamac said they decided to implement the Integrated Organic Farming program after the visit of Senator Cynthia Villar in Barangay Balibago.

“Inspired by Honorable Senator Cynthia Villar during her recent visit in Baranga Balibago, we doubled our efforts to attain an efficient and effective implementation of our integrated organic farming program (hog-raising and vegetable farming) following the concept of Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance, Villar SIPAG,” Mamac said.

“Kung ang barangay kikilos, bayan and mamamayan aayos,” he added.
