MANILA -- President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III will retain Malacanang sa Sugbo in Cebu City as his official residence when he is in the southern part of the country.

“We confirmed with the office of the Special Assistant to the President that the Malacañang sa Cebu is an official residence of the President, and thus, they will maintain it as such,” Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said Friday.

He said although the building is a property of Bureau of Customs, it will remain under the administration of the Office of the President.

“Whether he uses it or not, it’s an official residence of the President of the Philippines,” he added. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
