MANILA -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has installed a new secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita on Wednesday said that Arroyo has appointed Horacio Ramos to replace Eleazar Quinto who served in the DENR for about one month only.

Quinto was re-assigned to the Office of Political Coalition Affairs, which was vacated by Maricor Imperial.

Imperial meanwhile was appointed Cabinet Secretary in Office of the President in replacement of Lakas-Kampi senatorial candidate Silvestre Bello III.

Bello rendered his resignation to focus on his candidacy as the campaign period officially started Tuesday. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
