Badian's bet Apriel Smith is first Binibining Cebu

CEBU (Updated) -- Badian town's bet Apriel Smith was crowned as the first Binibining Cebu on Saturday, October 28, during the coronation night at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

The lass from Badian bested 53 other candidates from different towns and cities in Cebu.

Completing the top five in the competition were Minglanilla's Ingrid Gerodias (first runner-up), Danao City's Kathleen Mae Lendio (second runner-up), Bantayan's Maria Gigante (Binibining Cebu Charity) and Asturias' Samantha Lo (Binibining Cebu Tourism).

During the coronation night, Smith was also named winner in the swimsuit competition, which was held last September 29 at the Grand Convention Center of Cebu.

Miss Asturias won the evening gown competition, which was held on October 4 at the SM Seaside City Cebu, while Ronda town's bet Megan Campbell won the Philippine terno competition that was held in Argao last September 23.

This year's Binibining Cebu will receive P500,000 in cash and P300,000 in kind.

Other prizes for the runners up are the following:

* First runner-up - P300,000 in cash and P100,000 in kind

* Second runner-up - P200,000 in cash and P50,000 in kind

* Third runner-up - P100,000 in cash

* Fourth runner-up - P 75,000 in cash

The municipalities which the winning candidates represented will also receive cash prizes between P50,000 and P200,000.
