MANILA—New Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of staff General Delfin Bangit deflected all criticism against him that he can be used for partisan politics.

Delfin said it is difficult to be appointed chief of staff during the “delicate times” adding that he will do his best to uphold the credibility of the national polls and protect the votes of every Filipino come May 10.

“So critical is this forthcoming election. The all possible scenarios even the unlikely scenario--that I am here to destroy democracy. I will not allow anybody to use me for partisan politics. Sa Diyos lang ako magpapagamit,” Bangit said.

Bangit said that critics should spare AFP from political issues. (Sunnex)
