AT LEAST 40 squads are expected to see action in a two day football for a cause aimed to help raise funds to help families of the eight Cordillerans who were killed in Marawi.

Dubbed “Cordilleran Binnadang Football for-a-cause,” the football event is set on Dec. 16 and 17 at the Baguio Athletic Bowl with 11 categories.

Coach Aries Bocalan of the Cordillera Goshenland Football Club said events to be played in the first day are 8 under, 10 under, 12 under, 18 under boys, 18 under girls and the G-String elementary and high school categories.

The second day games will be 15 under girls, 15 under boys, ladies open, and men’s open.

“Right now medyo marami na rin ang nagpapalista coming from other places and hopefully we will maximize yung tournament to support the families of the fallen soldiers,” said Bocalan.

The tournament will be on a 7 a-side scheme with maximum of 10 players per team.

Bocalan added they will limit only 12 slots per category during the tournament organized by the Cordillera Binnadang Football Club and backed by Baguio City Sports Office, Goshenland Caring Hands.

Prior to the tournament, a free football clinic for children will also be held every Saturdays at the Athletic Bowl.

For more information and registration, interested squads and individuals may contact Coach Nestor Udan at 0927-642-0356.
