BENGUET State University admitted the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera has not allocated funding for the Benguet Agri Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) for 2017.

BSU President Feliciano Calora Jr. said the budget left for the operations will then be exhausted by next month.

“The facility is co-managed by BSU and the local government unit of La Trinidad and the P4 million budget is good only until March. That should take care all the operations though it is still not fully operational,” he said.

Calora added the management will soon face a greater problem if there will be no budget allocated after March although the BSU official said they have already coordinated with DA-CAR for the funding.

The BSU top honcho added BAPTC remains open to farmers, market facilitators, disposers and other interested stakeholders to submit their applications as the improvement of the facility goes on.

Calora however said they solve the problems faced by the trading center before the possible takeover of a private farmer’s cooperative by 2018.
