Benguet Corporation joins nation in marking Earth Hour

Sunnexdesk

BENGUET Corporation will participate anew in the March 23 switch-off from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in its continuing support to the worldwide Earth Hour campaign.

Benguet Corp’s turning off its supply of electricity will cover its industrial, office and mine camp areas.

Company staff members, who are living outside the mine camp, were also encouraged to do the same in their respective residences, as this is the most palpable in the fight against climate change.

For the period, the mining company’s Balatoc Mines will have reduced its electric consumption to close to a thousand kilowatts.

Concerned personnel had earlier made the rounds to the company’s mining areas enjoining occupants to use light bulbs as the more energy-efficient compact fluorescent lamps.

These are just a few of Bengut Corp’s contributions to the Philippines’ target of furthering its title as Earth Hour Hero Country, and in line with the active participation of the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines.
