John Dave N. Casas

A GOVERNMENT employee implicated in a massacre in Basilan province was killed in a gun attack by motorcycle riding gunmen on Black Saturday, Arpil 15, the police reported Sunday.

Chief Inspector Arlan Delumpines, Police Station 5 chief, identified the victim as Alty Falcansantos, a janitor of the City Government’s Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT).

Delumpines said the incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the village of Boalan, east of the city.

The victim was aboard a motorcycle on the way home when shot by one of two men riding tandem on another motorcycle along the highway in Boalan.

Delumpines said Falcasantos sustained two gunshot wounds and was rushed but failed to reach alive in the hospital.

Two spent shells of caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene.

An ongoing investigation continues to establish the motive as well as identify the suspects behind the incident.

Police are also looking into the possibility whether the killing was related to his implication in a massacre incident last year in Lantawan, Basilan province. (SunStar Philippines)
