Blue Knights Track League coaches' forum set

THE Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Office of the Athletics in cooperation with AdDU Track and Field Team will hold a Blue Knights Track League (BKTL) Season 4 coaches’ forum dubbed as "European Lessons for Grassroots Philippine Athletics" set on July 22 at the AdDU Grade School Conference Room in Matina Campus.

Track league manager Airnel Abarra, fresh from a 40-day training camp in Europe, will facilitate the forum that will tackle the best practices in organizing community-based athletics program, basic drills and training activities for youth athletics, program design and framework for youth athletics, connecting and networking with different athletics clubs in Europe and opportunities to travel and attend training camps in different athletics communities in Europe.

Abarra earlier said they added a coaches' forum in the new season as it aims to raise the culture of coaching.

It will also help give insights on how to set standards in coaching.

The coaches’ forum is pegged at P300 inclusive of lunch and certificate of participation.

The fourth edition expects some 100 tracksters from all over Mindanao including Koronadal City, Cotabato City, Tagum City, Mati City, Panabo City, Cagayan de Oro City and Davao City.

The first leg of the competition will open on July 29 at the Fr. Martinez Sports Center track oval at AdDU Matina. (ABM)
