A COUPLE was nabbed Tuesday morning in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Singcang-Airport led by the Bacolod City Police Office Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group.
CAIDSTOG team leader Senior Insp. Joemarie Occeño identified the arrested couple as Demos Sabala, 23, and his common-law wife Aireen Claridad, 36, both of Purok 4, Sitio Magsungay, Brgy. Singcang-Airport.
Occeño said the couple was arrested at about 7:30 a.m. by virtue of a search warrant issued by Municipal Trial Court in Cities - Branch 3 Judge Napoleon Diamante.
The police seized two elongated plastic sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised tooter, three disposable lighters and a pair of scissors from the suspects.
The search was witnessed by Simplicia Distrito and Richard Rivera of Aksyon-Radyo Bacolod.
During the raid, Sabala tried to evade the policemen by destroying the screen of one of the windows in his residence.
After receiving information from a concerned citizen that Sabala was allegedly engaged in illegal drug use, the police conducted several days of surveillance on the couple but the PNP clarified that Sabala is not in their drugs watch list.
