THE Philippines' largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB) draws in regular bus passengers with a P499 "Go Lite" seat sale of traditional bus routes. This is from August 10-11, 2010 or until seats last, for travel from October 1 to November 30, 2010.
Passengers going from Manila to Cauayan, Laoag, Legazpi, Naga, San Jose, Tuguegarao, and vice versa, as well as from Davao to Cagayan de Oro can avail of the P499 "Go Lite" seat sale. These routes are serviced by CEB's young aircraft fleet, composed of 21 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR 72-500 aircraft.
Those traveling from Manila to Bacolod, Catarman, Calbayog, Cebu, Iloilo and Kalibo can also avail of P499 "Go Lite" seats, while those traveling from Manila to Tacloban, Tagbilaran and Roxas can avail of P599 "Go Lite" seats.
Meanwhile, "Go Lite" seats from Manila and Cebu to Boracay (Caticlan), and from Manila to Dumaguete can avail of P899 "Go Lite" seats.
International routes included in this seat sale are P999 "Go Lite" seats from Manila to Kota Kinabalu, P1,499 seats from Manila to Brunei and Ho Chi Minh, and P1,999 seats from Manila to Kuala Lumpur.
Those with check-in luggage will just add P100 upon booking. Passengers will then get 15 kilos free baggage allowance (FBA) on any flight, except Boracay (Caticlan), which only allows for 10 kilos FBA.
"CEB continues with its mission to give opportunities for every Juan to fly. Those who are used to riding the bus, or even ferry, for hours to get to their destinations can appreciate the ease and convenience of traveling by air," said CEB vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog.
"We are also highlighting our low fares to Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei destinations in this seat sale. Aside from increasing flights to Kota Kinabalu, we are also the only carrier to fly direct from Manila," she added.

Based on Civil Aeronautics Board data, CEB overtook Philippine Airline's passenger numbers in the first quarter of 2010, making it the largest airline in the Philippines. CEB is also set to launch direct Manila-Brunei flights on August 21, 2010, and Manila-Beijing flights on September 5, 2010.
