Cebu to experience rains due to low-pressure area

THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) yesterday said Central and Eastern Visayas are affected by the weak low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao.

Pagasa Mactan Chief Al Quiblat said that Cebu will continue to be cloudy and experience occasional light to heavy showers.

Quiblat cautioned Cebuanos to be vigilant in case of continuous heavy rains, which might cause floods, landslides or sinkholes.

However, he assured the public that there is no weather disturbance approaching.

Meanwhile, the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) reminded residents in landslide- and flood-prone areas in central Cebu and its neighboring areas to be vigilant.

“If needed, these people must transfer to safety areas now,” said PDRRMO Chief Baltazar Tribunalo. (EOB)
