CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Dr. Benjamin Arboleda, chief of the Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DPMMH), has been detailed back to the Mabalacat District Hospital (MDH) where he earlier said he wanted to leave a legacy of good service.

This was told to Sun.Star Pampanga Monday by third district Board Member Monina Laus, chair of the Provincial Board's Committee on Health, who said that Arboleda would be replaced by Dr. Sonny Aquino as DPMMH chief.

Laus added that Dr. Eddie Ponio has also been appointed Provincial Health Officer with the nod of Governor Lilia Pineda.

"I actually mediated between Dr. Arboleda and Dr. Ponio on their misunderstanding and disagreement on some issues. They shook hands in front of Governor Pineda and agreed to her decision," the lady board member said.

Earlier, reports had it that Arboleda was being pushed by a board member for the provincial health officer post. He however, denied the report and said he just wanted to be detailed back to MDH.

As this developed, Laus revealed that the committee on health is fast moving to accomplish Pineda's priority agenda.

Among the special health programs Laus cited were the cataract program, "Operation Bungi," "Alay ni Nanay Baby sa mga Nanay at Babies," the dental health project, "Kalinga sa mga Empleyado ng Probinsiya," and Pineda's anti-rabies assistance program. (Jovi T. De Leon)
