THE City Government announced that it has lined two activities under the Summer na Zamboanga 2018 program and “is now accepting applications.”

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the activities include Digital Art Contest and the Comida Cooking Contest, which are slated to be conduct on April 26 and April 28, respectively.

Salazar said the Digital Art Contest will be showcasing original photos depicting the Zamboangueños love for this city in keeping with the contest theme of “I Love Zamboanga City.”

The entries must promote a positive image of the city and should include people and iconic landmarks or symbols.

The entries must be taken or created in Zamboanga City from January 1 to April 20, 2018. The deadline for submission of entries is on April 20.

The participants may submit until three artworks, each with a title, medium used, and short narrative.

Salazar said the photo competition is open to all amateur and professional digital artists and photographers residing in this city.

She said the Comida Cooking Contest, on the other hand, will be a challenge to culinary enthusiasts to prepare a gourmet Filipino a la carte dish that highlights the use of a local ingredient found in Zamboanga City.

A participating team will be composed of two members who will prepare an entree or main course for display and for tasting within a time limit of two hours. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
