Consumer welfare management seminar slated

Sunnexdesk

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducts a one-day seminar on "Consumer Welfare Desk (CWD) Management" in Zamboanga City.

Engineer Rolando Acuña, DTI provincial director, said the seminar will be from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

"This seminar manifests the development role of DTI," Acuña said.

The seminar aims to help business establishments become competitive; create loyalty from the consumers; ensure that consumers are protected and contented; provide opportunities for consumers to get immediate redress of their grievances through the effective CWDs at the store level; and decongest consumer complaints at the DTI level.

He said 56 managers and Consumer Welfare Desk officers of 52 major establishments in this city are attending the seminar.

"It is expected that these participating stores will draw more customers and establish customer loyalty. This will be due to the efficient handling of consumer complaints which they shall gain from the said seminar," Acuña said. (Bong Garcia)
