Cops nab journalist for attempted homicide

A 43-YEAR old man who claimed to be a journalist was arrested for charges of attempted homicide.

Arrested was Herbert Hugo P. Dumaguing, a resident of Jupiter St., Barangay Macasandig and currently employed at the Citizen Times Publication.

Armed with an arrest warrant, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (Cidu) of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) arrested Dumaguing in his house at around 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

Dumaguing is now detained at the Maharlika Detention Center in Carmen.

Cidu Reynante Reyes said the arrest warrant was issued by Judge Vincent Rosales, presiding judge of Municipal Trial Court (MTC) Branch 4.

Rosales allows Dumaguing to post bail in the amount of P12,000 for his temporary liberty.

Records showed that sometime on January 8, 2009, Humaguing pulled the trigger of his firearm and allegedly shot Zerlo Charlie Dumaguing, his elder brother, but was not hit. (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
