A TOWN councilor in Bukidnon was ordered dismissed on accusations that she took a Civil Service Sub-professional examinee in 1987 in behalf of someone else.

Office of the Ombudsman-Mindanao Graft Investigation and Prosecution Office 1 (GIPO1) Vivian Jumilla, in a decision dated January 23, 2015 approved by Deputy Ombudsman Rodolfo Elman, has ordered the dismissal of Baungon councilor Marjorie Jaraula, her retirement benefits forfeited and her disqualification from re-employment to any government office.

The case stemmed from the complaint filed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC)-10 represented by Adams Torres.

Torres said Baungon Mayor Pedro Alvarez requested him to look into allegations that Jaraula took the civil service exam in behalf of a certain Aurea Cual on July 26, 1987.

In her counter-affidavit, Jaraula insisted the CSC Rules on Administrative Offense of Dishonesty should not be imposed since it has no retroactive effect.
