CTTMO admits getting complaints about road works

Sunnexdesk

THE Davao City Traffic and Transport Management Office (CTTMO) has been receiving complaints about potholes created by road works, as well as traffic congestion due to haphazardly parked construction equipment, and the office already warned the contractors identified to be behind these.

"Contractors leave their equipment by the road causing inconvenience to motorists, the excavations they are doing are also left unmark which are road hazards," CTTMO head Rhodelio Poliquit said Friday.

They received at least six such calls the past days, he said.

He said they already talked with one contractor,, although he has yet to know if this same contractor has already told his sub-contractors about the issue.

The issue about road works contractors was raised by Davao City Councilor Rachel Zozobrado in her privilege speech last Tuesday at the City Council session.

Zozobrado pointed out that such negligence has not just been inconveniencing the public but have also caused accidents. Rhealyn C. Pojas
