CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon conducted a review of its existing programs in an activity dubbed "Research Development and Extension In-House Review" from June 10 to 11 at Holiday Inn inside Clark Freeport.

The Agency In-House Review is the final evaluation of research studies of researchers of the division, collaborating agencies and local government units.

With the theme "Harnessing Agricultural Economy Towards Global Competitiveness through Research for Development", the purpose of the review is to discuss the ways and means of doing research for improvement and refinement and to determine the relevance of the study in our present times.

Papers, which are found relevant, are disseminated for commercialization thereby helping farmer-clients increase productivity and profitability.

The two-day activity also aims to improve the quality of research studies before packaging it into a technology for commercialization, increase knowledge among researchers for improvement, educate and update management on the researches being undertaken and gain support from the management to assist RDE projects financially.

"This RDE review is being held annually and we have four specific objectives first is to assess the status of DA funded RDE projects, to get the research results example technologies, methodologies, strategies for dissemination na pwedeng i-replicate at pwedeng i-transfer sa ating mga Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) or farmers for adaptation, to really asses our RDE if they are being conducted properly we also invited evaluators to check and give technical recommendations on how to further improve the methodologies na ginagamit ng mga researchers natin and lastly to give recognition sa mga researchers that are doing well in terms of technical paper preparation, presentation and poster making" Dr. Irene M. Adion, chief of DA-RFO3 Research Division, said.

A total of 100 participants composed of evaluators, researchers, SUCs and LGUs attended the said event.
