THE Davao Tourism Association (Data) is set to hold the first Go Davao Travel Expo on May 3 to 7, at SM Megamall, Metro Manila in a bid to lure in tourists to come to Davao.

“This is not your typical expo where you see other destinations. This is just all Davao. And it is also a fashion expo, a food expo, and a lifestyle expo, everything about Davao. As a matter of fact, we’ve already tied up with some establishments. Marco Polo Ortigas will be scheduling their Davao Food Festival on the same dates. We will rally to also include Seda Hotel and Water Front,” said Data president Gatch Gatchalian during the Turismo Café presscon at Abreeza Ayala Malls Activity Center Thursday last week.

Gatchalian said any food chain or business establishments interested in taking part for the Go Davao Travel Expo on May is welcome to join in and participate.

“We are really very excited. This is the first and this is something that will really make sure that people will visit Davao. It is very timely because what we can promote during those periods is the Kadayawan Festival. So it will be like showing off. We would show off everything about Davao and we are going to really encourage them to visit Davao from May to the end of the year,” said Gatchalian.

The expo will have a display of the different fruits, food, and the sceneries that Davao City possesses.

The expo is also supported by the Department of Tourism and the City Tourism Operations Office. (JPA)
