DAVAO-BASED web and mobile development agency is embarking on a learning-activity in a bid to equip and further enhance high school students and out-of-school youth's digital skills.

Ingenuity Global Consulting Inc. is set to launch "Hackademy," a fun, accessible and affordable way to learn and acquire programming skills with opportunities to interact with competent trainers and mentors considered as best engineers in the industry.

"We believe that everyone and not just a lucky few should be given opportunity to learn computer science, particularly programming, which enhances the individual's problem-solving and thinking skills," said John Naranjo, Ingenuity chief executive officer.

He said that even if a high school student will not pursue a programming career, the essential skills acquired such as logic and analysis have broader uses in today's digital era.

Hackademy's first activity is a free two-week web programming boot camp on June 8 to 19 with students from the Philippines Science High School-Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC) at the Ingenuity training center.

"About 11 Grades nine and 10 students will be mentored by software engineers from Ingenuity to develop websites and web applications. Through Hackademy, we hope to help build tomorrow, one line of code at a time," Naranjo said.

Founded in 2010, Ingenuity is known for crafting well-engineered web and mobile applications and providing value-added services, including strategic consulting which significantly help businesses realizing their vision.
