THE Davao City Risk Reduction and Management Office (DCRRMO) Operations and Warning Section advised all barangay response units on Monday, February 12, to warn communities in danger zones to prepare for the pre-emptive evacuation when necessary.

Davao City Information Office (CIO) relayed this information from the said section in line with possible landfall of Tropical Storm Basyang early Tuesday morning and the days to follow.

The DCRRMO said there is possible flooding as severe rainfall in the nearby provinces is expected to cause swelling and overflowing of the Davao River system.

"Davao City could possibly experience flooding similar to the one brought by (Tropical Storm) Vinta within 24 to 48 hours after landfall," the agency said.
