DavSur seizes lead

MATI, Davao Oriental--Davao City dropped to fourth place while Davao del Sur snatched the lead with six points after third round of the elementary boys chess team event of the 2010 Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet chess competition at the Mati National Comprehensive High School here.

Davao del Sur's Rafael dela Torre and Raymart Silao scored identical three points in the individual event to help their team pull away from Tagum City and Compostela Valley that shared the second and third palce with total 3.5 points each.

Jet Engay scored two points while teammate Bhing Joel Gimony got one point for Davao City's total of three points.

But Davao City led the elementary girls and secondary boys and girls divisions to keep its title-retention bid alive.

Hannah Joyce Amoncio and Ella Grace Moulic remained unbeaten after three rounds, thus, combining six points for Davao City in elementary girls team event. Davao del Sur's Knorr Che Bueno and Cleo Tubon amassed four points along with Davao del Norte's Camile Thea Bruca and Sheena Rizza Abiera. (MLSA)
