DepEd to hold 1st regional ICT summit

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Department of Education Regional Office (DepEd)-Central Luzon will host its first ever Regional ICT Summit on Friday, November 10, at the LausGroup Event Centre.

With the theme “Digital Transformation of the KID (K to 12 + ALS, ICT, DepEd), the regional summit shall bring together ICT practitioners, policy makers, achievers in ICT education and implementation, and other stakeholders and provide ideal platforms to discuss innovations in education, enrich teaching and learning, build capacities for effective school and office management, and share top education resources.

DepEd-Central Luzon shall use the summit as a venue to search for and recognize best practices in the field in utilizing ICT to effectively deliver teaching and learning, as well as provide efficient governance and operations, directly to learners, teachers, and relevant stakeholders in the field of education.

The ICT Best Practices awards have two categories namely ICT for Teaching and Learning which highlights the intensification of the use of the DepEd Computerization Program (DCPI packages and other available technologies integrated in the curriculum) and ICT for Governance which features ICT ingenuities that further improve DepEd services in the schools and division level. All ICT Best Practices entries must be in place and sustained for at least six months.

The ICT Summit shall also feature keynote speeches, presentations of ICT best practices both in the Teaching and Learning and Governance categories, and awarding of the Top 5 ICT Best Practices which shall be included in the DepEd National ICT Summit Search for Best Practices.
