Diversion road project for completion in 2018

THE fourth Davao City Diversion Road Extension project, aimed to decongest worsening traffic condition, is expected to be completed in 2018.

The 8.98-kilometer (km) bypass road started its construction in January 2017.

"We expect this project to be completed in 2019 if flawless ang process ng construction," Dean Ortiz, DPWH regional public information officer said in an interview with SunStar Davao.

The P1-billion project will extend to Davao City Diversion-Mandug road, Tigatto-Magtuod-Tugbok section.

It is one of the projects under the DPWH regular infrastructure project.

Ortiz said the road will cross the Davao City Diversion Road all the way to the Mandug-Waan Road near the Davao City Bridge.

He added that of 8.98 km., 3.20 km. of the road project have been completed.

"Nasa package three and four pa tayo, there are five packages for this project. After finishing these, we go on to the next part," he said.

The Davao City Diversion Bypass Road is one of the ten road projects in Davao City intended for 2017.

"Out of the 10 projects that are estimated to be at P7 Billion, two have already started," Ortiz said.
