THE Philippine National Police (PNP) assured Monday that all documents of the Internal Affairs Service (AIS) remain intact after fire hit the old building of the IAS Sunday night.

One person was injured when fire hit the one-story building located inside the PNP general headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City around 7 p.m.

Senior Superintendent Adriatico del Camat, IAS spokesperson, said no document was left in the gutted building as IAS transferred to a new building last January.

IAS is the unit of PNP investigating administrative cases of erring policemen.

Among the high profile cases being investigated by IAS are the January 25 bloodshed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao and the Atimonan massacre.

Meanwhile, PNP officer-in-charge Leonardo Espina ordered the PNP Headquarters Support Service (HSS) to conduct mandatory checkup of all facilities in the camp following the fire incident.

"There might be wirings that are exposed, exposing the building or buildings to fire. I have directed the HSS last night (Sunday)," he said. (Sunnex)
