Don’t be corrupt: Duterte to allies

Sunnexdesk

THE strong message of President Rodrigo Duterte against corruption in government should serve as a reminder to all public servants, particularly bureaucrats in the Cebu City Government, Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella said.

“Considering that the president is very passionate about accountability of public office and his fight against corruption, I think this would serve as a reminder that we have a President whose attitude towards graft and corruption is uncompromising,” he said.

Although they were not part of the local chief executives who met with Duterte last Monday, Labella and some city councilors who are members of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) met Duterte after his official engagements in Cebu late last Monday.

Labella said that even in his speech before them, the president was serious about his warnings on corruption and accountability of public officials.

The gathering held in Mactan-Benito Ebuen Air Base was attended by close supporters of the President, some businessmen and other close friends. (RVC)
