Duljo ‘pusher’ charged

A 41-YEAR-OLD woman was charged in court for illegal possession of dangerous drugs after officials of Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City allegedly caught her handing over a sachet of shabu.

Duljo-Fatima barangay tanod Ranulfo Barason saw the woman who was later identified as Girlie Aloba, a resident of Riverside, standing near a door and allegedly handing a sachet to a man.

Believing it was shabu, Barason and his colleagues ran toward the two.

They failed to arrest the man but they caught Aloba, who attempted to throw away several sachets of suspected shabu.

During inquest proceedings before Prosecutor II Maria Lourdes Bragat-Quilitorio, Aloba chose not to undergo preliminary investigation, where she could answer the complaints, and opted to face the case in court.

Quilitorio recommended no bail against Aloba since the dangerous drugs confiscated from her weighed 5.07 grams.
