MAYOR Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar on Wednesday led the turnover of a newly-refurbished village hall to residents of Divisoria, Zamboanga City, led by Chairperson Jesus Macrohon in fitting rites.

Costing P2.284 million, the rehabilitated village hall was constructed by a private contractor under the supervision of the City Engineer’s Office in a period of 10 months.

Salazar said supporting the needs of the villages is one way to improve delivery of public service as it will benefit the residents at the grassroots level.

Salazar said the villages’ councils should be equipped and capable to attend to the needs of their constituents as the frontliners in public service.

The village of Divisoria is located 6.4 kilometers east of Zambaoanga City. It is where the city’s modern Integrated Bus Terminal is located.

City Engineer Luis Vicente Despalo, representatives of the construction firm and some re-elected and newly-elected City Councilors accompanied Salazar in unveiling the rehabilitated village hall. (Bong Garcia)
