Ellis tows Binuangan to crushing win vs Jasaan

Tulabut

BINUANGAN toddlers defended turf with a crushing victory over Jasaan, 71-49, in the Kuyamis 14-under basketball being played in Binuangan on Saturday, August 5.

Kim Ellis fired 24 points to lead Binuangan, while Aljohn Alesna and Dindo Francisco chipped in 14 and 9 markers each.

The heftier Binuangan hoopsters had a languid start, but they caught fire in the second quarter to establish a 17-point lead, 36-19.

They were still way ahead at the close of the third quarter, 49-35.

However, a searing rally by Jasaan brought them to within nine, 42-51 in the early goings of the fourth and final quarter.

Easily one of the tallest guys on the floor, Ellis checked back in 6 minutes mark and took matters in his hands as Binuangan went to their largest lead in the game at 22 to never look back.

Jasaan got 16 points from Corbin Cantutay highlighted by his 8-of-8 marbles from the freethrow line.

“Kulang lang gayud og tag-as ang Jasaan,” said Dan Jaminal, tournament director of the annually-held Kuyamis basketball.
