Fire hits residential area in Quezon City (3:35 p.m.)

MANILA -- A fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City Tuesday afternoon is now affecting hundreds of families, radio reports said.

The fire, whose origin is not yet known, is still razing houses made of light materials along North Avenue in Quezon City, snarling traffic in the area, radio dzBB reported.

Firefighters are now trying to put off the blaze, which also razes a part of the Department of Agriculture's compound.

No one was reported injured in the incident as of this posting Tuesday. (Sunnex)
