THREE men shot dead a 52-year-old fish dealer in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City last Monday evening.

The victim, Silvestre Lagora, was with his common-law wife and daughter when the incident happened at 11:15 p.m.

The men took the wife’s cash and valuables worth P156,000.

Police believe it’s a case of robbery with homicide. The culprits remained unidentified.

Pusok Police Station non-uniformed staff Janisa Murante said that Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) personnel rushed Lagora to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

His wife, Leonora Igot, 52, and her 10-year-old daughter were not hurt.

Murante said the three were on board their Nissan pick-up with plate JCZ-313 at that time.

They were about to enter the gate of their place in Barangay Pusok when they were waylaid.

The culprits, who had been waiting in the dark, opened fire at Lagora, said SPO2 Roger Uriarte, of Pusok police station.

Another culprit opened the pick-up and grabbed Igot’s yellow bag containing two cellphones worth P5,000 each and a small brown bag with P25,000 cash and assorted checks inside.

They also took her gold bracelet worth P45,000, another gold bracelet with fish pendant worth P48,000, and a ring worth P28,000.

The wife told Uriarte that after robbing them and carting away valuables, the culprits fled on foot.

The wife described the first gunman as chubby, the second culprit as good-looking and the third as slim.

Lapu-Lapu City Police Office is still investigating the incident.
