A NON-GOVERNMENT organization announced it will be providing 2,000 hearing aids to persons with hearing impairment within this month.

The distribution of hearing aids is part of Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Provincial Government’s program to celebrate Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) Month this July.

“Last year’s assessment was good. There is a possibility that this year we will undergo a second cycle,” said Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) focal person Myra Tansingco in Cebuano.

The activity has three phases–screening, distribution of hearing aid and the act to repair. Last year, the foundation helped 1,041 persons with hearing impairment.

The PSWD will also organize a medical mission and wheelchair assessment on July 20. Some 200 PWDs from Cebu are expected to take part in this year’s medical mission and wheelchair assessment at the Capitol Social Hall.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Katungod ko, sa kalambuan kauban ta!”
