Gunman kills 3 in Isabela City

THREE people, including a soldier, were killed by a lone gunman in Isabela City, the capital of Basilan province, a police official said Monday.

Basilan police officer-in-charge Abubakar Tulawie said the incident took place shortly after 12 noon in the village of Kaumpurnah, Isabela City.

Tulawie identified the fatalities as Sergeant Hussin Jumahalid, who is a retired soldier, Altrikie Jumahalid, and Salip Sakib.

Initial investigation showed that the victims were shot to death by a certain Black while they were inside a house in Kaumpurnah village, said Tulawie.

Tulawie added that the Isabela City Police Office (ICPO) headed by Superintendent Rodrigo Maramo is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the motive of the incident as well as the real identity of the suspect. (Bong Garcia)
