Ifugao holds environmental summit

ABOUT 300 students, teachers and facilitators took part in an Environmental Summit in Kiangan, Ifugao, recently.

The summit seeks to encourage students to get involved in the local government’s ecological solid waste management (ESWM), disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) and tourism programs.

The participants took part in lectures on environmental issues and briefing on the LGU’s programs on environmental management and tourism, particularly the Kiangan Tourism Sites and their Culture and Arts.

They also held an advocacy parade and environmental walk around the town.

There was also a poster making contest among the different schools.  (DBC)
