Iloilo Capitol grants P5-M aid to LGUs

ILOILO -- The Provincial Government has provided a total of P5-million financial assistance to fulfill various community infrastructure projects in the local government units (LGUs) of Anilao, Badiangan and San Rafael this year.

Anilao Mayor Lee Ann Debuque and Badiangan Mayor Serafin Villa Jr. received the aid from Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. during a turnover ceremony held at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.

Of the total aid, P3 million went to Anilao for the construction of multipurpose hall of Barangays Badiang and Sambag Culob and improvement of the building of the town’s Liga ng mga Barangay.

The P1.5-million went to Badiangan for the construction of school stage of Astorga Primary School, Budiaue Primary School and rehabilitation of school building of Inta Primary School.

Head teacher Merlinda Pastolero of Astorga and Budiaue Primary Schools said the project will be used to make the learning experience of pupils more fun and memorable.

“We are thankful to the governor because it has been our desire to build a stage for the socio-cultural activities of the school,” she said.

The remaining half a million was donated to San Rafael for the reconstruction of the multipurpose pavement of Barangay Aripdip. (Jezza A. Nepomoceno)
