THE Iloilo City Council endorsed a resolution to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to allocate P2 million directly to the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) in order to meet the strong demand for medical assistance from the indigent residents of the city.

Councilor Candice Magdalane Tupas said the resolution seeks to augment the capacity of the city to respond to the medical needs of the people.

The resolution asks the DBM to allocate the funds directly to the WVMC, which is the tertiary regional hospital of the Department of Health in Western Visayas.

Members of the City Council firmly believe that the National Government support will greatly help the city constituents who have no resources to pay for their medical expenses.
