Island Sun bowlers win 16th Lapanday bowlfest

THE Island Sun bowlers captured the 16th Lapanday Bowling Tournament crown Saturday afternoon at the B3 lanes of NCCC Mall.

Island Sun amassed a three-game score of 2,481 pinfalls to edge Royal (2,381) and Aloha (2,316), which placed second and third, respectively.

It was a double celebration Susan Paredes of the Island Sun after she emerged with the best female score of 174. Allan Abais of Aloha got the best male score of 202. Both players received cash prizes for their feat.

Other teams are their scores were Manna (2,196), Heart of the Philippines (2,141), Frutia (2,104), Stareyna (2,060), Orchid (2,053), Frescana (2,039), Mabuhay (2,021), Estrella (1,896) and Will (1,745). (CRAM)
