Japan film fest opens tonight (2:39 p.m.)

MANILA -- In line with the month long celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month this July, the Japanese Contemporary Film Festival opening is set tonight (Thursday).

Now on its 12th year, “Eigasai 2010” aims to enhance Filipino's understanding and appreciation of Japanese arts and culture through films.

An invitational screening of "Always Sunset on Third Street" directed by Yamazaki Takshi will be held on July 1 at the Shangri-la Plaza Cinema 4.

Japanese films will be shown in Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong until July 11 and Up Film Institute on August 18-21.

For regional screening, Eigasia will continue its Philippine leg to Gaisano South Citimall, Davao on July 23-25 and on August 3-8 at Ayala Center in Cebu.
