Japanese retirement home in Mambukal opens on May 12

THE Japanese retirement home in the Capitol-run Mambukal Resort in Murcia town, Negros Occidental will be unveiled on Friday, May 12.

The retirement home and caregiver training center, which has a yearly lease of P1.2 million, is operated by Sanko Group of Companies.

Leading the program is Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Sanko Group of Companies chairman Kaicho Hatsue Kato. Pangasinan Second District Representative Leopoldo Bataoil is also expected to join them.

On March 17, 2015, the Provincial Government and the Japanese firm inked a 25-year-contract for the establishment of Sanko Mambukal Life Care Home, which used to be the Governor's Lodge in Mambukal.

The two-storey facility can accommodate 10 Japanese elderly and 120 caregiver trainees. It also has 18 rooms.

The training will run for six months which will include Basic Japanese Care Giving and Japanese language on a “study now, pay later” scheme.

Students should be able to finish the training and pass the examination to have the opportunity to apply for job in Japan.

With the program, the Provincial Government is eyeing to attract investors from Japan and to provide opportunity for qualified caregivers to study and learn the Japanese culture.

The program also aimed to generate employment for Negrenses in Japan.
