MANILA -- First-time coach Vergel Meneses will not allow his wards to stumble as he guns for a third win in four outings for the Jose Rizal University (JRU) Friday in the 86th NCAA men’s basketball tilt.

The Bombers, who bounced back from their opening day loss with a pair of victories, will rely anew on the solid effort of Cameroonian recruit Joe Etame against Perpetual Help at the Arena in San Juan.

“If we can show the same focus and aggressiveness we showed in our last two games, we’ll have a strong chance of sustaining our run,” he said.

Etame averaged 13.5 points, 12 rebounds and a block during that stretch which also nails him the NCAA Press Corps’ ACCEL/FilOil-backed Player of the Week honors.

Perpetual Help, on the other hand, will try to end a 0-3 hole in the 2 p.m. match. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
