MABALACAT -- A Korean national reportedly drowned at the swimming pool of a posh resort in this municipality.

Police identified the fatality as Kang Wang Yul, 35, a Korean temporarily staying at Room 304 of Woodland Park Resort in Barangay Dau here.

Dau Police Chief Jowen Dela Cruz said the victim’s body was found by his friends at 9:20 p.m. Saturday.

According to Dela Cruz, there was no foul play on the death of the Korean.

Kang Wang Yul’s friends told police that they were drinking liquor before the incident took place. They added that the victim is also suffering from asthma.

“Malamang nalunod yun dahil nakainom siya. Pwede rin naman na inatake siya ng kanyang asthma,” Dela Cruz said.
