Mabalacat City Council goes ‘paperless’

John Kevin D. Pilapil

MABALACAT CITY --- The Sangguniang Panlungsod has acquired laptop computers in a bid to lessen the use of papers in the office.

Vice Mayor Christian Halili said that they want to get rid of voluminous documents used during sessions and communications to various government agencies and private firms.

“This is our share on the global campaign to lessen the impact of global warming and climate change,” Halili said.

The gadgets were issued to the 12 councilors and other personnel of the city council.

“We will use them in our next session. We can now take a glance of proposed resolutions and ordinance ahead of time,” said Halili, who added that the city council has employed a computerization program.

Halili reminded the SP members that the newly-acquired gadgets are for official use only.

“The laptops will be helpful for us particularly in preparing resolutions and ordinances and other communication documents,” Halili said.
