THE Department of Education in the Cordillera Administrative Region (DepEd-CAR) assured all athletes who represented their respective provinces during the Caraa will be given make up activities.

DepEd CAR assistant regional director Soraya Faculo said athletes who played during the regional meet should be given considerations for them to catch – up on their studies.

"Yung mga athletes na nag-attend ng Caraa meet who missed their classes, the rule is, principals or teachers should give them make up activities in the form of modules, worksheets for them to cope in class para hindi naman sila magfail," Faculo said.

The DepEd official explained the make-up class is given to students who have represented their schools in competitions.

“Students will still have to comply kung ano ang mga requirements na maibibigay sa kanila to make up for the absences they have," Faculo said.

Faculo added school principals, head teachers, and teachers in the different schools of the region will again be reminded of such compliance.

"Considerate naman ang ating mga kasamahan especially if our school children represent our division, school, or region for activities such as sports or academic competitions para naman matulungan ang mga bata," Faculo said.

Aside from representations of students in different fields, students who incurred absences due to diseases, or other important matters should be given considerations subject to certain conditions such as presentation of proofs like medical certificate and other documents.

“Kung sakit ang dahilan ng pag-absent ang certain percentage ay mga 20 percent of the total number of school days para hindi maalis,” Faculo ended.
