MALAYAN Bank survived an end game scare to stay undefeated after three games with its 79-78 win over Team White in the ongoing 1st Sambag 2 Basketball and Athletic Association (S2BAA) at the Sambag 2 gym Thursday night.

Former UC Webmaster and Malayan Bank Cebu branch head Ritchie Bacalso secured the win for the team as he sank pressure-packed free throws in the final three seconds to steal the game.

Estong Espinosa gave White a 78-77 lead with only 20 seconds remaining but Bacalso’s trip to the free throw line saved Malayan Bank.

Noel Piquero, meanwhile, took charge in the third to lead Team Piquero to its third straight win after beating S2BAA Selection 68-55 in the main match.

Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama, meanwhile, will showcase his shooting prowess as he joins the 1st S2BAA All Star Game 3-point and free throw shooting contest this Sunday.

Rama will also suit up for the South Squad.
